Apple Raisin Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk - scalded
- 3 cups bread - cut into cubes
- 2 cup chopped apples
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
Instructions
- Scald milk in small saucepan. Set aside to cool.
- In sauté pan melt butter. Add chopped apples and sauté until soft. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon.
- Place cubed bread into a 2-quart casserole. Pour raisins and sautéed apples over bread. Pour scalded milk over bread. Add egg mixture. Cover and let sit in your refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
- Bake in preheated 350-degree oven. 45 minutes to 1 hour or until custard is set. Serve with vanilla ice cream or drizzle caramel sauce over bread pudding.
